Place de la Concorde ... early in the morning
Place de La Concorde is located at the bottom of Champs Elysées on the way to the Louvre.
It's the biggest "place" of Paris, created by Jacques Ange Gabriel from 1754 to 1763 and thus previously named as "Place Louis XV".
During the Revolution it was renamed Place de la Revolution and was a bloody place because of the extensive usage of the "guillotine".
The third name was the present one (it changed several time) : Place de la Concorde for a more pleaceful usage.
In the center lies the Louxor obelisk (given to king Louis Philippe by the viceroy of Egypt). And all around - a place within the place - we can find statues representing the biggest border cities or ports of France : Lille, Strasbourg, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Nantes, Brest and Rouen.
